ReZoom™

Serving Los Angeles and Orange County, California

What is ReZoom™?
ReZoom™ is Advanced Medical Optic’s acrylic multifocal IOL (intraocular lens) that received FDA approval in March 2005. It has five fixed optical zones allowing post-operative patients to see both near and far, typically without the aid of glasses or bifocals. Previous and older lenses for cataract surgery only corrected distance vision.

In clinical trials, 92% of patients said that after their ReZoom™ procedure, they never or only occasionally needed glasses.

Who is a candidate?
If you have a cataract and also have difficulty reading, seeing up close or driving, you may be a candidate. In addition, if you are having frequent prescription changes or need bifocals, you may be a candidate for ReZoom™. Your doctor will discuss lens options with you during your cataract evaluation. Both eyes need to be done to achieve best vision.

"No more headaches from glasses - not spending 15 to 20 minutes putting in contacts. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Khanna to anyone."
– B. Snow

What can I expect during the procedure?
ReZoom™ is just like other cataract procedures. Your eye will be numbed with anesthetic drops, a very small incision made, and then through a process called phacoemulsification, the clouded lens will be removed. The surgeon will then insert the new ReZoom™ lens.

What can I expect after the procedure?
You will go home that same day to rest and will need someone to drive you home. You’ll come back the next day for a check-up appointment. Upon the advice of your doctor, you can resume your normal activities within a few days.

How long will it last?
Artificial lenses do not develop cataracts so your ReZoom™ lens procedure should last the rest of your life.

Is ReZoom™ covered by insurance?
Yes and no. If you have a cataract that is considered medically necessary to remove, Medicare or other insurance will pay for the removal of the cataract and replacement with a single focal lens. If you choose a multifocal lens like ReZoom™, you will have to pay the difference between what insurance will pay and the extra cost of the multifocal lens. If you choose to have the ReZoom™ lens for presbyopia and not a cataract, you will be responsible for the entire cost of the procedure. Third party financing or medical flex accounts can help make the procedure more affordable.

If cataracts are keeping you from an active lifestyle, call or email Khanna Institute today to schedule a free vision screening.
