~Happy Patients~

~Here at Khanna Institute we love it when are patients are happy! So our goal is to make sure every patient leaves here happy! Last Friday we did Lasik on a young girl from here in Westlake Village, yesterday she came in for a follow up, and she was doing great she could see 20/15 in both her eyes. It was a great feeling to know we made another patient really happy, and her life better and that much easier. She no longer has to worry about getting up in the morning and putting on glasses, or putting contacts on before she can see her alarm clock, or function for that day! She can now return back to college at Cal State Channel Islands and finish school with ease!

~A Miracle!

~Today I saw a miracle being performed in front of my eyes! A twenty one year old girl who had shaky eyes all her life came with her mother to our Westlake Village Lasik and Refractive Surgery Center. The technical term for shaky eyes is nystagmus. This young girl had been turned down by other refractive surgeons as being too technically difficult to operate on. So she remained legally blind and even with thick contact lenses was barely able to see, but then she came to Dr. Khanna who is premier laser surgeon of Ventura, and Los Angeles Counties. He performed photo refractive keratotomy on her. Within a few minutes a whole new world opened for her. She could see better than ever in her life-without any visual aids! She said it was a miracle and I am happy I witnessed it!!!!!!!

CK

CK is the short form for Conductive Keratoplasty. The staff here at Khanna Institute of Lasik and Refractive Surgery is trained in this technique. So whether you live in Valencia or Thousand Oaks you have an option to avail of this technique. This technique uses radio frequency waves to alter the shape of the eye. Neither laser nor any blade is used. These waves are the same waves you use when you are listening to a radio. CK is great if you want to avoid wearing reading glasses.

Khanna Institute is proud to offer this laser free procedure to los angeles.

LASIK Ectasia

We were fortunate to have been able to help a woman who had had Radial Keratotomy, Arcuate keratotomy followed by LASIK. She developed weakening of cornea called LASIK ectasia, and her vision decreased. She came to see us in our westlake village office(located next to thousand oaks) from oxnard. We did Intacs procedure and strenghtened the RK incsions, and she is already seeing better. We thank her optometrist for having the foresight to send this patient to us for help.

Go Bruins

Its a proud moment to be a part of the UCLA family. The football team showed amazing spirit and dedication in beating the much fancied USC. Similar dedication is seen in our LASIK institute. Every procedure and thus a happy patient gives us the elated feeling of scoring a touchdown. Like Eric we keep our defense strong by employing good sterilization techniques.
Go Bruins. Congrats to Karl Dorrell.

Dr. Khanna is a board certified, fellowship trained LASIK surgeon with vast experience. Besides being a skilled surgeon he is an active goal scorer in the Field Hockey league at Moorpark College, Moorpark, CA.

Side effects of Help

Continuing with the train of thought from the previous blog-
Teaching patients or others about building confidence, skills and thus a better lifestyle is a two edged sword. It can make them happier and respect you. It can also lead to dependence, and transference reactions. As physicians in todays society we have to be careful. the best intentions may be misrepresented. Hence people of faith shoul be the one to talk about religion. If doctors start religious classes temples and churches may again practice medicine.
Physicians have to heal - faith and prayer and meditation are good instruments. But lets not involve docs in religion.

Prayer and LASIK?

Doctors aren't chaplains http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-sloan2dec02,0,2804607.story?coll=la-home-commentary

We reviewed this article with interest. We dont think doctors should interfere in the patients religious beliefs. Physicians should respect the patients views. Faith and prayer may be encouraged. There is no harm in that. In fact during LASIK, we use meditational techniques to calm the patient, which yields better results. So we are glad the scientists are actually studying the beneficial effects of these techniques.
We also believe a healthy mind resides in a healthy body, and encourage every reader to lead a healthy lifestyle.

This blog is for entertainment purposes only.We dont want to offend anyone. Providing LASIK, Superlasik to Los Angeles, Simi Valley, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, Malibu, Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, Oxnard, Calabasas
